Early Life[]

Laura was born and raised in Cambridge, New York. She is the daughter of actor John James, best known for portraying Jeff Colby on the 1980s soap opera "Dynasty". Her mother is Australian model Denise Coward, second runner-up in Miss World 1978. She has a younger brother, Philip James. Prior to the show, Laura studied at Paul Smith's College, studying Hotel Resort Tourism Management.

ANTM[]

Laura represented Paul Smith's College. She was the third girl called to the final cast.

Throughout the competition, she was seen as one of the front-runners, receiving three first call-outs for the zombie shoot in episode four, the steampunk shoot in episode six, and the prison shoot in episode eight. She also won three challenges for her scholarship bank.

She appeared in the bottom two three times. The first with Allyssa in episode seven, then In Jamaica, in episodes ten and eleven, she was with Kristin and Nastasia. For the latter, there was only a 0.3 difference in the girls scores.

At the final runway at Rose Hall, Laura struggled with her runway walk, and at panel, she was criticized for her stiff walk, yet praised for her Nine West photo. In the end, Laura received the highest total average of 41.2, beating Leila's 35.2 and Kiara's 36.6.

She also appeared in the finale episode of the first Boys & Girls cycle.
